Accommodation
Accessible or Adapted
The main difference between accessible and adapted accommodation is accessible has built in ceiling hoists, these are a QT200 ceiling mounted hoist and track around the accessible bedroom into the accessible bathroom. These lodges are the newest designed and most spacious for all mobility needs.
Emergency Alarms
All accessible and adapted accommodation is equipped with emergency pull cord alarms, these sound within the accommodation, but do not alert to a central location.
Parking
All accessible and adapted accommodation comes with a designated accessible parking space for one car. Lodge 892 has parking for 2 cars.
Lodges 888-892 have EV charging points by the parking bay.
Charging Points
All accessible and adapted lodges have an external charging point for mobility scooters.
Access inside the lodges
There is access for guests using wheelchairs throughout the main living areas, in the adapted bedrooms and bathrooms/wet rooms. There is limited manoeuvring space in the non-adapted bedrooms & bathrooms which have a 20-30mm lip into them.
Lounge
The Lounge has a raised chair to aid transfer from a wheelchair, the chair is also high seated and firm. See each lodge details form gap to enter the lounge area.
Patios
The patio is accessible through a double or sliding door with almost level entry there is a small lip on the door threshold.
Kitchens
All Kitchens have two-levels of worktop a lower section of approx. 72cm, without a unit below it and higher worktop of approx. 90cm. There are sufficient floor-based cupboards to provide accessible storage. You may need to move the lodge inventory around to suit your needs. There are also higher-level wall mounted cupboards which are not accessible from a wheelchair. The tap for the sink is on the nearest side to the user.
Dining Areas
The dining areas are just off the lounge/kitchen and chairs can be removed to allow access for a wheelchair user at the table.
Accommodation Accessible Bedrooms
These have one adjustable 3ft bed and one regular bed. Adapted accommodation there is space beneath the bed to allow a transfer hoist to be used within the accommodation. A portable hoist is not provided in the accommodation. If one is required, please contact Center Parcs prior to your stay and we will hire one at no extra cost. Accessible accommodation a ceiling hoist is provided. Slings are not provided in any accommodation.
The wardrobe has a lower level hanging rail. There is a table next to the bed.
There is an emergency exit door in the room. An emergency cord is provided by the bed. These are local alarms and sound within the lodge only for assistance in an emergency call 01842 894444 or 999.
Adapted bathrooms & En-suites
All accessible accommodation had a wet room style bathroom, which is spacious enough for a wheelchair user. They include an accessible shower with seat, sink, wash hand basin and toilet. The shower head heights can be adjusted. An emergency cord is provided by the shower.
Whirlpool Baths
If the jets in the Whirlpool baths which are fitted in some of our accommodations are continually covered for significant lengths
of time, they become hot.
This makes the baths unsuitable for guests with a sensory impairment who would fail to detect the gradual warming only for very short periods of use.
For guests with lower limb mobility restrictions (or particularly for those with lower limb mobility restrictions accompanied by sensory impairment) extreme care must be exercised in using the aeration function on the baths.
Woodland Lodges & Executive Lodges
Unless stated these provide single storey accommodation with a variable number of bedrooms, one of which will be fully accessible with accessible bathroom, accessible living accommodation and kitchen.
There is access for guests using wheelchairs throughout the living, dining & kitchen areas of the accommodation. Some of the other bedrooms may also have limited access, although there would be limited manoeuvring space once in the bedrooms. Where applicable for the lodge type, the main non-adapted bathroom has a small step up into it & small WCs and boiler cupboards have limited space.

House 49 – New Style 4-bedroom Exclusive Lodge
Is a two-storey accommodation and is a dual use lodge, meaning that it can be booked by guests requiring use of the accessible bedroom or not. The facilities provided are sufficient for a maximum occupancy of eight adults.
The accommodation may therefore only be booked for parties of eight, not ten. (Please refer to booking conditions regarding children under two years).
The lodge has four non-accessible bedrooms and one fully accessible bedroom if required.
The living area on the ground floor is accessible.
The door width to enter the lodge has a clearance of 78cm, the door to the kitchen, games room and accessible bedroom have a clearance of 87cm.
Parking
Designated accessible parking is provided close to the lodge.
Accessible Bedroom
This is provided with one 914mm x 1981mm (3ft x 6ft 6in) bed, and one fully adjustable automatic hydraulic bed. This is a Volker 3080 Electric bed with adjustable and retractable bed sides with wheels to aid movement.
There is space beneath both beds to allow a hoist to be used at the bed.
A portable hoist is not provided within the accommodation. If one is required Center Parcs will arrange for the hire of a hoist at no extra cost. Please note, slings are not provided.
The bedroom has 133cm clearance at the end of the bed.
The ensuite bathroom with sliding door is 179cm by 367cm and provides accessible shower with flip down seat (weight limit 200KG/32Stones), wash hand basin 72cm high and a toilet 48cm seat height.
Kitchen
The hob is at counter height 910mm. A further work surface at 760mm height is also provided. The microwave is accessible at 930mm height. The oven is at low level.
The fridge is part of a fridge freezer, with the fridge on top.
The sink is at 900mm (standard height). There are no cupboards beneath.
There are sufficient floor-based cupboards to provide accessible storage. There are also high-level wall mounted cupboards.
Living Accommodation
There is seating for eight in the lounge area. In addition, a high seated firm chair is available within the accommodation. There is also space within the lounge area for a person using a wheelchair to remain seated in their wheelchair.
The dining table has an adapted position that provides sufficient knee space for a guest using a wheelchair.
Sauna, Steam Room, Shower & Hot Tub
The sauna, steam room and power shower all have level access and doors which allow wheelchair entry. The door to the area has a 770mm clearance. The sauna is accessible from inside and outside.

Wheelchairs with metal fitting will become sufficiently hot to burn in the sauna and steam room. Guests should be able to transfer from these in order to use these facilities.
The external hot tub is provided with an Oxford 140 Dipperlift hoist. The maximum safe working load is 140 Kg (308lbs). A Ranger chair is appropriate for use with the hoist and may be used if brought with you. Please note slings are not provided.
Breckland Apartments Adapted Executive Room 1

This is a self-catering one-bedroom open planned apartment located on the ground floor of the Breckland apartments. The front door width is 865mm. There are automatic doors that are triggered by your wristband to enter the apartments.

There is space beneath the bed to allow a hoist to be used. A portable hoist is not provided within the accommodation. If one is required Center Parcs will arrange for the hire of a hoist at no extra cost. Please note, slings are not provided.

This is a very spacious single-story accommodation with level entry from a wide pathway, the front door has 820mm clearance, open plan living designed for easy mobility for wheelchair users and all mobility requirements.
This accommodation offers two large accessible bedrooms, with ceiling hoists, lifter sinks and lifter toilets in each of the two ensuite wet room/bathrooms, space outside each bedroom for wheelchair parking (1900mm by 1500mm), a washer dryer, recliner high riser chairs, large kitchen with lower sink, hob, oven, and fridges and also has a sensory room. The Sensory Room
The room is equipped with bubble tube, light and sound elements, Bluetooth speakers (120.151UK is the speakers name, connect to this through your phones Bluetooth), padded floor area, cushions, bean bag, mirrors, and a weighted blanket. There is a thermostat to control temperature in the room.
There is level access to the patio via the patio doors (1830mm opening) in the lounge area. The patio is fully covered with a large, slabbed area.

Double with sliding doors allow easy access into the bathroom with1040mm clearance, the lifter toilet is fully automatic with wash and dry cycles and height adjustable (440mm-840mm), the sink is also height adjustable (650mm-960mm), there is a fully height shower and adjustable height shower, with a shower chair (weight limit max.200kg/32stone) The toilet is in a central location so accessible from both sides.
Kitchen
The kitchen boasts a lot of accessible cupboards, there are high level as well. The lower worktops are 750mm, the higher are 900mm. The hob and sink (with tap close to the edge of the worktop) are on the lower worktop, the fridge and over (with side opening) are 700mm off the ground for easy access. There is a washer dryer for guest use in the kitchen.
Living area
Is spacious and open plan living to make manoeuvring around easier.

Lodge 896 - 4 -bedroom New Style Adapted Executive Lodge
Is a two-storey accommodation with four bedrooms (one fully accessible), accessible living accommodation and kitchen.
Parking
Designated accessible parking is provided close to the lodge.
Access
There is access for guests using wheelchairs throughout the ground floor of the accommodation. This includes into the other ground floor bedroom, although there is limited manoeuvring space once in the bedroom.
There is level access to the patio via the accessible bedroom and dining area.
Accessible Bedroom

Living Accommodation
There is seating for eight in the lounge area. In addition, a high seated firm chair is available within the accommodation. There is also space within the lounge area for a person using a wheelchair to remain seated in their wheelchair.
The dining table has an adapted position that provides sufficient knee space for a guest using a wheelchair.
The patio is level access with doors which allow wheelchair entry/exit.
Sauna
The sauna has a small step to access and doors guests should be able to transfer from their wheelchairs in order to use these facilities as wheelchairs with metal fitting will become sufficiently hot to burn in the sauna. No transferring facilities
are available within the accommodation.

Treehouses
The four Treehouses are accessed by walkways, ranging from 80 metres to 40 metres, with a maximum gradient of 1:20.
The Treehouses have their own parking area.
Access
Our treehouses have level access into the accommodation. Each Treehouse has a rear terrace and games room with level access.
Bedrooms
There are four ensuite bedrooms, one double room upstairs and one double and two twin rooms on the ground floor, accessible from the living area. Wheelchair users may have trouble in manoeuvring around these rooms due to limited turning space.
Bathrooms/Toilets
All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. There is also a toilet leading from the main entrance hall. These facilities are not adapted.
Kitchen
The kitchen affords basic manoeuvring space in a wheelchair. However, it is not designed for adapted living.
Living Area
There is seating for all occupants of the accommodation in the lounge and games room. There is also enough space within the lounge area and games room for a wheelchair to manoeuvre.
Hot Tub & Sauna
On the rear terrace there is access to the Hot tub and Sauna, both of these facilities are not designed for adapted living.
Waterside Lodges
Access into the Waterside Lodges is on to the first floor. Access to the ground floor is only by stairs.
Bedrooms
There are three double bedrooms, all ensuite, situated on the first level on the accommodation. Wheelchair users may have trouble in manoeuvring around these rooms due to limited turning space.
Kitchen and Living area
Both areas afford a basic manoeuvring space in a wheelchair. However, they are not designed for adapted living and are only accessible by stairs.
Bathrooms/Toilets
All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. These facilities are not adapted.
Hot Tub
From the rear downstairs balcony door there is access to a hot tub. This facility is not designed for adapted living.
Woodland, Executive, Exclusive, Apartments & all other un-adapted lodge styles
There is a variety of other Lodge styles and types, ranging from one-bedroom apartments, through to four bed roomed exclusives.
The majority are single storey; however, a small number of executive and exclusive lodges are two stories.
Due to the forest location, paths to lodges may be narrow, long, steep or stepped and access into most lodges is via a step.
Parking for these lodges is in the main car park (with the exception of some exclusive and executive accommodation). Vehicles are allowed on village for unloading and loading.
However alternative arrangements can be made for medical necessity in exceptional circumstances.
Internally, accommodation may not provide wheelchair access into any or all of the rooms. Manoeuvring space is restricted, and bathrooms and kitchens are not adapted.

Accommodation – whirlpool baths in un-adapted accommodation
Whirlpool Baths
If the jets in the whirlpool baths which are fitted in some of our accommodations are continually covered for significant lengths of time, they become hot.
This may make the bath unsuitable for guest with a sensory
impairment who would fail to detect the gradual warming without supervision.
For guests with lower limb mobility restrictions (or particularly for those with lower limb mobility restrictions accompanied by sensory impairment) extreme care must be exercised in using the aeration function on the baths
