Action Challenge

Action Challenge including Indoor Climbing Adventure

Action Challenge welcomes disabled guests and guests with special needs but require reasonable advanced notice.

Because the Action Challenge activities are physically demanding not all activities will be suitable for all guests. Each activity has strict safety requirements. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone prior to your visit or on site during your stay.

Entrances & Access

One wooden ramped entrance to the Action Challenge Hut and booking point the counter is 95cm in height, staff are happy to assist and have a clipboard for signing documents if needed.

Viewing Areas

At Action Challenge we have two designated spectator viewing areas which are both wheelchair accessible with woodchip surface. Viewing is also possible from the tarmac road that runs between the Action Challenge hut and the activity areas.

Viewing for the indoor climbing area is via a set of wooden stairs and accessible viewing is located from the badminton courts next to the activity or from the wooden walkway within the Sports Plaza.

Toilet

The nearest toilet is situated in the back of the Action Challenge hut. The nearest accessible toilets are at The Boathouse or Sports Café which are less than 3 minutes away.

Indoor Climbing Adventure

Indoor Climbing Adventure welcomes disabled guests and guests with special needs but require reasonable advanced notice. Because the Indoor Climbing Adventure activities are physically demanding not all activities will be suitable for all guests. Each activity has strict safety requirements. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone prior to your visit or on site during your stay.

Entrances & Access

Access to the Indoor Climbing Adventure is from the walkway near to the entrance to Sports Café and across the badminton courts. There is accessible access and viewing from the court floor and from the walkways within the Sports Plaza.

Toilets

The nearest accessible toilets are situated in Sports Café at the Sports Zone and next to the arena.

Activities

Climbing, Aerial Adventure, Aerial Tree Trek, Mini Trek and The Drop

Climbing activities are suitable for some guests with disabilities, however, full use of arms and legs is required, along with the ability to follow instruction.

Aerial Adventure & Aerial Tree Trek

Ariel Adventure

Aerial Adventure welcomes guests with additional needs but require advanced notice. Because Aerial Adventure is physically demanding it may not be suitable for all guests. This activity has strict safety requirements, which our staff have to follow for health & safety reasons. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone prior to your

visit or on site during your stay. Activity is suitable for majority of guests with additional needs, however, the full use of one arm and both legs is required, and the ability to follow instruction is essential

The nearest assessable toilets are located within the Sports Plaza.

Mini Trek

To take part in this activity, children must be accompanied by a person aged 18 or over. Age restriction – 2 years and Height restriction – 1.2 metres max. Mini trek is 1 metre above ground level, this activity is located opposite the Action Challenge Hut. Mini Trek welcomes guests with additional needs but requires advanced notice. This activity has strict safety requirements, which our staff must follow for health and safety reasons. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone prior to your visit or on site during your stay. The nearest accessible toilets are located within the Sports Plaza.

The Drop

The activity involves climbing up to 3 platforms on different levels via steps. Depending on ability you will jump off each platform in turn. Because The Drop is physically demanding it may not be suitable for all guests. This activity has strict safety requirements, which our staff have to follow for health & safety reasons. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone prior to your visit or on site during your stay. Activity is suitable for majority of guests with additional needs, however, the full use of one arm and both legs is required, and the ability to follow instruction is essential.

The nearest accessible toilets are located within the Sports Plaza.
