"We went to Centerparcs for a long weekend with our 2 year old and a 10 month old baby and had such a great time. The Christmas experience had just started that week, and the Santa's grotto was really amazing. We were also really impressed with the standard of the accommodation - the three bed exec lodge - it's nicer than it looks in the pictures. Also the bedrooms were not all right next to each other, which was a God send for us as it made it easier to avoid one child waking the other at night. When we arrived the cot and the high chairs we asked for were there waiting, and we brought one of our own travel cots too. We loved the blackboard on one of the kitchen doors, as after a testy journey our two year old was immediately delighted with this and it helped us all to settle nicely! We mainly ate at home as it was easier with the kids, and the kitchen area was very nice and had most of what you would need. In general the whole vibe around the resort is really friendly and relaxed. Everyone going round on bikes is so nice and it feels like a real getaway. The water park was really fantastic. The warm temperature of the changing rooms made it all so much easier with little ones - the fact they were never cold helped so much with changing afterwards. We are also dying to do some of the more adventurous activities when our kids are older...but we won't be waiting that long and will definitely be making this an annual trip."
Centre Parcs Have Nailed The Family Holiday
@patb1379- November 2019, Longford Forest
"I always wondered would I ever get the chance to give a 5 star rating to any holiday or resort I stayed in, well now's the time.
This place is amazing for families, we traveled with 2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 3 and they had more than enough to do for the whole 4 days.
The highlight is the sub tropical swimming pool a constant 29.5 degrees hot you have 3 slides, 2 bubble pools, a lazy river and a wave pool that kicks off every 30 minutes.
You also have the option to go outside where the air is freezing but the water is boiling a bit like been in Iceland, from the outdoor pool you have the option of sliding down the rapids, you would need to be comfortable swimming and be strong enough but it's great fun.
We loved that after check in no cars are allowed through the forest until the official departure days which are Monday or Friday, we loved cycling around and the treasure trail on our bikes was great fun.
We ate out one night in the sports bar for 4 of us it cost 50 euro with cokes and 2 kids meals , great value cheaper than Eddie Rockets for example.
The winter wonderland was amazing looking this time of year and the visit to Santa was great with 2 great gifts for our 2 kids.
The view from our lodge was as you can see from the photo picturesque
All I can say is it's very impressive and the perfect family holiday, you will be totally relaxed coming home given the setting of beautiful accommodation set in an amazing location.
The whole setup is well run and the staff very professional.
